Bruce studied at St. Martins School of Art. His designs for dance include: Vanessa Fenton’s Ad Infinitum, Frozen, Knots, Absolutely Not, Deliverance and On Public Display (Royal Ballet, Covent Garden). Christopher Hampson’s Canciones (City Ballet of London), Giselle (National Theatre Prague) and costume design for A Christmas Carol (Royal Festival Hall), Glen Wilkinson’s Three Finger Soup and Six Pack (Rambert Dance Company). Other designs include Bouy (Bunty Mathias/Peter Farley, Alienation (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane). His designs for theatre include; Malachi Bodganov’s Brave New World (Torsion Theatre Company) Richard III, Threepenny Opera, Titus Andronicus, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet (English Shakespeare Company) The Italian Job (International Tour) and Yeoman of the Guard (D’Oly Carte Opera Company). Bruce also designs many productions outside of the theatre and has worked for and with artists such as members of The Rolling Stones, Bjork, Christina Aguilera, Pulp and on the Brit Awards, as an artist he recently took part in a joint exhibition with Ronnie Wood and Jan Kunovsky in Prague. His awards include the 1998 Angel award for best production at the Edinburgh Festival, Theatre Design Trust awards in 1993 and 1994 and a nomination for the Live Awards Stage Designer of the year in 2002. |
